Opal apples are SO good, I’m not surprised they sold out fast. They are crisp (grainy apples suck) and sweet and tart at the same time. They also don’t turn brown after you slice them so I bet they’re popular for people who meal prep and stuff

One of my favorites. Opals have been out of stock/season for a minute too. They have a consistency almost like pears, so even when they start to get a little soft, they still taste good and don’t get very mealy. I usually refrigerate them, but I got a lot of apples and they didn’t all fit in my crisper, so I ate the biggest opal I got and it had a really sweet and sorta tart floral flavor.
