@donnerpartyofone I thought so! It’s basically a kind of creepy REAR WINDOW + BIGFOOT type of thing where a guy in a wheelchair can see that a cabin full of ladies is about to get attacked by the monster but he doesn’t have a really good way of contacting them. Also, his caretaker is an asshole. Also, Lance Henricksen and Jeffrey Combs are in it. I think it was originally made for tv but I found it to be quite good by those standards.

I don’t know how I feel about this movie totally, but it’s sorta wild

@donnerpartyofone – The werewolf church dream especially! When I first saw it, I hadn’t seen too many kids horror movies where the villain was a well known face from town in a respectable position like a priest. I’m pretty sure I also hadn’t seen something with a lead character that was disabled. I like the themes about coping with your limitations in a functional way and being resourceful to defend yourself. I always liked kids horror movies and I think there needs to be more of them, because horror has always been a means to come to terms with your fears or at least help you understand them. Kids need that!

In your estimation, what are the most important qualities that an apple can have?

Thanks for the question! I’m no expert but I do buy and eat a lot of apples so I’ll act like I’m one. I like crunch as the #1 thing. I think most people probably hate mealy soft apples. It’s like eating a toad made out of wet sand. And then juiciness follows crunch naturally. I don’t think I’ve had a crunchy apple that wasn’t juicy. You can usually tell pretty easily if it will be a good apple by firmness, but some varieties have fooled me. Envy is my #1 or #2 favorite apple and I got some recently that had some soft spots I didn’t notice. I tend to like sweetness more than tartness in apples but a cultivar with the right balance can be really great. And also, I tend toward more intensely flavored apples too, and those tend to be the most expensive ones. I don’t mind if the apple has a couple of small dings but I avoid bruised ones. Also I try to make sure theres no spider webs in the top where the stem goes in.

so tl;dr recap : crunch, firmness, juice, no bruises

@donnerpartyofone:  i think i’m just stressing myself out by forcing my ass drawings into a completed composition, but it’s also possible that i don’t know any other way to do it! i got really lazy on my imitation of a tacky sculpture of fire, but i think the foliage around the schoolbus kind of got the right impression across. the best part is the woman’s face, which actually came out a lot more interesting than the original painting i was copying; too bad i squashed her into the binding.
