i saw two pairs of doves walking around on the dirt today
1. the sound of cooing doves reminds me of when I was little, because I used to hear it regularly when I was around 6 years old and then all the doves disappeared until a bout a year or two ago.
2. These new doves let out a really weird garbled caw in addition to their more pleasant sounds. It took me a while to figure out it was the doves doing it and I don’t know what the deal is.
3. Doves make that squeaky wing sound when they fly.
4. I like how doves will walk around on the ground. Most birds hop around, but doves will walk around and for long periods of time before they fly away. They don’t seem to like grass, just bare hard packed dirt areas.
5. I saw doves last year side by side facing opposite directions and contact walking in a circle together. I assume it’s a mating ritual.
6. They’re really fat with bulb heads. They look like bowling pins
